Who this is for

If you build sofas, sectionals, recliners, ottomans, banquette seating, executive chairs, modular furniture or any seated upholstery, your foam choice decides three things at once: how the seat feels on day one, how it holds up at year three, and the warranty claim rate at year five. Most foam complaints in the Indian furniture market — "sagging seat", "lost shape", "too soft now" — trace back to under-spec density. We supply seating-grade foam tuned for Indian build, climate and use cycle.

Grades we typically supply to furniture buyers

ComponentGradeIFD (typical)Why this works
Seat cushion (regular)32 kg/m³ HRMedium 30–38Six to eight year cushion life under daily home use. Best value pick.
Seat cushion (heavy use / hospitality)36–40 kg/m³ HRFirm 40–50Eight to ten years of seated cycle life with minimal IFD drift.
Backrest fill20–24 kg/m³ PU (low density)Soft 16–22Backrests carry far less repeated compression. Lower density is correct here — saves cost without compromising feel.
Armrest core28 kg/m³ PU or 32 kg/m³ HRMedium-firm 32–42Shape retention under occasional leaning load.
Modular base / firm seat lift80–100 kg/m³ bondedFirmUsed as a 1–2 inch lift under softer comfort foam to prevent bottoming-out.

How we engineer this for you

Three things make foam supply work well for furniture OEMs:

Spec match, not sales push Send us your seat profile, expected weight load and use cycle. We will recommend the lowest density that gives you the service life you want — not the highest density we can sell.
Cut-to-spec slabs Slabs cut to your seat dimensions, profile and curvature. CNC cut on request for complex modular geometries. Less wastage on your shop floor.
Predictable batch consistency Every batch is sampled for density and IFD. Tolerances tight enough that your weekly seat builds feel identical across the production run.
Lead-time stability For recurring orders we hold a stock window of your specific grade so you can call off in small lots without a fresh lead-time cycle.

Why India proximity helps furniture OEMs

our factory sits inside or within a short truck haul of every major Indian sofa cluster:

Short transit means smaller buffer stock for you, less working capital tied in inventory and faster reaction when an order pattern shifts.

Furniture-OEM FAQ

What MOQ should I plan for?

First-time orders typically begin at one full block / one truck load. Recurring customers move to smaller per-order quantities with a monthly or quarterly schedule. Share monthly volume in the RFQ and we will quote against your specific run.

Can you cut to our seat profiles?

Yes. Send drawings or templates. CNC profile cutting is available for complex curvature. We will quote with and without profiling so you can decide if in-shop cutting still makes sense for your run size.

How quickly can I get samples?

Standard density grades dispatch as samples within 48–72 hours of an RFQ. Custom densities take 5–7 working days from order confirmation.

Do you supply with fire retardancy?

Yes, FR-treated grades are available — relevant for hospitality and certain export markets. Specify the standard you need (BS 5852, CAL 117 etc.) in the RFQ.
